What a Nasty Job – What a Lovely Reward

One of the special tasks on the calendar today was to spend an hour cleaning and organizing the kitchen. To the outside observer my kitchen is clean and organized. And its true, I keep my counters cleaned off and wiped down. The cabinets I use to store my pots, pans and dishes are clean and for the most part well organized. My kitchen sink is usually free of dirty dishes. And I clean as I cook, so when dinner is ready, most of the dirty dishes I used to cook with are in dishwasher or the sink ready to be cleaned. However, there are those locations in my kitchen where I do the stash and dash. Most are clean enough but there is absolutely no organization whatsoever. But then, there’s the cabinet under my kitchen sink. I hate to admit it but it’s just icky. Here it is: Dun, dun, dun. It’s sad, I know. And, from the picture you can’t even see all of the gunk that’s leaked from all those mostly empty (now anyway) bottles. So, besides cleaning out my fridge and giving my appliances a scr

Weekend Scrappin'

Over the weekend I got to play. So I thought I would share my new creations. This is a scraplift from a layout I saw either on the Scrapbook Generation Website or blog . I use papers from Jillibean Soup’s Summer Squash Soup collection. The font is Wonton you can get it here . I used my Silhouette to cut the border design. It’s Monica Bjork’s Flower Frame and Border. You can find it here . Then I blinged it up a bit with pearls from Recollections. I originally planned to use Allison Davis’ Hall of Fame Sketch from September 2008 for this layout. However when I got into the actual construction I realized that the papers I wanted to use weren’t going to work so I used the photo layout from the sketch and then scraplifted a layout I saw a while back. Again on the Scrapbook Generation Website or blog . 4th Parade by Karin. The pattern papers are from Reminisce’s Real Magic collection. The sparkle papers are from the Paper Studio. The mouse head is my own design or at least as much a

I'm a Containerizer.

That’s right I like my junk contained. And hidden. And labeled. It’s a sickness, I know. But I just can't control myself. So today, I'm sharing the labels I use on the baskets in my laundry room. The special task on the calendar for today was to clean & organize the laundry room. I have cabinets above my washer and dryer where I keep all my laundry & cleaning supplies. And a lot of other stuff as well. The baskets above contain a variety stuff. Like, sewing supplies, clothes pins, batteries, flashlights, light bulbs and household supplies.  Here is my sewing supply basket. And here is what I keep in my household supply basket. Outlet covers, extension plugs and adapters, 3M Command Adhesive strips & hooks, felt rounds for chair legs, twine and a few other miscellaneous items. Here is what the labels look like. If you like my labels and could use them you can find a PFD file here .  It includes blank labels to make your own.  Print it off cut on the
