Introducing the New Clean House Calendar Planner

 Good Morning!

My name is Britia, it's pronounced like the water filter.
I live in southwest Missouri with my husband of 25 years.  We have one college-aged daughter and a sassy yellow lab.  I'm a retired middle school math teacher, a beginning gardener, and I'm recovering from breast cancer.  Finally, I'm kind of a neat nick but, confession time, I have messy closets and cabinets.

As a new mom, I struggled with caring for my daughter and managing our home and I realized I needed a plan to get my housework done, food on the table, and care for myself and my family.  I did a little research and came across FlyLady.  She had a simple plan I thought I could follow.  As I worked through her plan I realized I needed to tweak it a bit to better meet my needs.  As the years went on I tweaked, then I tweaked some more, then I tweaked a little more and finally, I created The Clean House Calendar, a planner to get my home clean and organized.

I started this blog several years ago to share The Clean House Calendar with you.  Over the years I have created a few different versions, the daily planner, the weekly calendar, and the monthly calendar.  Then I discovered the Happy Planner.  I fell in love at first sight, a planner I could decorate with fun stickers!  I bought all the things and I decorated my planner.  And there it sat.  It was so pretty.  It was so pretty I couldn't bring myself to write in it.  I tried week after week but it just didn't work for me.  So I decided to tweak The Clean House Calendar to work with the Happy Planner system.  After several tries and inspiration from the Passionate Penny Pincher, I finally created a version of The Clean House Calendar that works with the Happy Planner System and I actually use.

Today, I'm sharing it with you!  Click here for The Clean House Calendar - July thru December 2022.

Media/Game Closet

Back in 2006, when we were building our home, we converted one of our linen closets into a media closet.  This is where we stored our cable box/DVR, DVD player, and all of our DVDs.  Then, my husband ran the cables from these devices through the attic to our TV above the fireplace.  It was marvelous not having to look at all those cords.  They are the bane of my existence.  Once these items had a home, a few shelves were left, so I decided this would be the home of all our games.  Thus, the Media/Game closet was born. Fast forward to 2024, and we no longer have a cable box, a DVD Player, or even a TV.  So now it's just a game closet. You may not have a game closet.  But I bet you have games stored somewhere in your home.  This week is the week to clean and organize that area.   Below, I'm including my Media/Game Closet cleaning checklist.  If you would like a copy, simply click on the image, and you can download it. Enjoy, B.
