Back in 2006, when we were building our home, we converted one of our linen closets into a media closet.  This is where we stored our cable box/DVR, DVD player, and all of our DVDs.  Then, my husband ran the cables from these devices through the attic to our TV above the fireplace.  It was marvelous not having to look at all those cords.  They are the bane of my existence.  Once these items had a home, a few shelves were left, so I decided this would be the home of all our games.  Thus, the Media/Game closet was born. Fast forward to 2024, and we no longer have a cable box, a DVD Player, or even a TV.  So now it's just a game closet. You may not have a game closet.  But I bet you have games stored somewhere in your home.  This week is the week to clean and organize that area.   Below, I'm including my Media/Game Closet cleaning checklist.  If you would like a copy, simply click on the image, and you can download it. Update my Trello Master To-Do List and Home Projects Boards. Tuesday: Clean tile grout. Wednesday: Clean and reorganize locker bins. Thursday: Clean the ceiling, walls, and doors for cobwebs, dust & any stray marks. Clean the outsides of cabinets. Run the ‘Clean Washer Cycle’ on the washing machine. Clean the lint trap in your dryer. Wipe down both the inside and outsides of the washer and dryer. Clean the laundry room sink and countertops. Dust/vacuum the baseboards and behind machines. Vacuum and mop floors. Empty trash bins. Take any donations to the car. Friday: Add any tasks or projects that need doing to my Trello...

So back in 2016, I introduced the Super Summer Spiff Up.  It didn't go much of anywhere because, let's face it, I'm not a good blogger.  But I keep trying.  So today is a new day, and I will try again.  Yesterday I sat down and created a calendar for the month of June with projects I want to complete.  Here it is: I'm sure you don't need to complete the same projects as me, but if you want to download my calendar, you can do that here .  I also have a blank calendar that you can fill in with the projects you would like to complete in June.  You can download it here . I will only have a June Super Summer Spiff Up calendar because the Clean House Calendar Fall Cleaning Schedule starts July 18.  I should have Clean House Calendars ready to purchase by the last week in June.   The spring cleaning task for this week is the media/game closet. When we built our house, we ran wires from a small linen closet to the wall above our fireplace, where we placed our TV.  That way, the cable box, the DVD player, and all the required wires were hidden.  At that time, we stored all of our media equipment, DVDs, and board games in that closet.  Over the years, our media needs have changed, and there is no longer any equipment in the closet, but we still store DVDs (yes, we still have those) and our board games in that closet. As you know, the Clean House Calendar is based on what I needed to keep my own house clean and organized. Therefore, I needed to include the media/game closet in my cleaning schedule.  You may not have such a closet, but I'm sure you have an area or two where you store your media (vinyl, DVDs, 3D glasses, games systems, and accessories) and your board games and puzzles.  Those areas are what we are focused on this week....

 Happy New Year! I spent December really evaluating my current situation and planning for 2021 and the future.  I have several goals for the new year and one of those is to have this blog up and running.  So expect some positive changes here on the Clean House Calendar blog. One of the things I was able to do last year was to get the 2021 Clean House Calendar Monthly Calendar created and ready to sell in my Etsy shop.  However, due to some changes at Etsy, my shop is closed right now.  Good news for you, because I'm giving the first 6 months of 2021 to you as a freebie. While I was away teaching I started using the Happy Planner.  Stickers are so much fun.  So now I decorate the Monthly Clean House Calendar with stickers as well.  Here is how I decorated mine for the month.   Remember the Clean House Calendar Monthly Calendar is designed to print on 11 x 17 paper.  I have an old comb binding machine so I punch and bind my calendar t...

One of my goals for January is to get in the habit of drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day and gradually eliminating my soda habit.  The Clean House Calendar Planner has a water checklist for each day of the week.  However, the Wall Calendar does not.  Since I am using the Wall Calendar this year I created a printable checklist to help me keep track my water consumption and decided to share it with you. It is designed to be printed on 8 1/2 by 11 paper and cut in half at 4 1/4 inches. I printed off a couple of sheets and thumb tacked them to my command center.  But I think for the long term I will print the file on card stock and laminate it.  Then if I use a dry erase maker I can reuse it each week.  Get the Water Checklist here.
