Media/Game Closet

Back in 2006, when we were building our home, we converted one of our linen closets into a media closet.  This is where we stored our cable box/DVR, DVD player, and all of our DVDs.  Then, my husband ran the cables from these devices through the attic to our TV above the fireplace.  It was marvelous not having to look at all those cords.  They are the bane of my existence.  Once these items had a home, a few shelves were left, so I decided this would be the home of all our games.  Thus, the Media/Game closet was born. Fast forward to 2024, and we no longer have a cable box, a DVD Player, or even a TV.  So now it's just a game closet. You may not have a game closet.  But I bet you have games stored somewhere in your home.  This week is the week to clean and organize that area.   Below, I'm including my Media/Game Closet cleaning checklist.  If you would like a copy, simply click on the image, and you can download it. Enjoy, B.

Coat Closet/Mud Room

Over the cold, snowy weekend, I lost focus on getting a blog post out and instead scrapbooked.  So, I'm a little late getting this post up.  But better late than never.  This week, the Clean House Calendar's cleaning task is the Entry/Mudroom.  Here is a cleaning checklist to help you get your entry/mudroom cleaned and organized without getting overwhelmed.  Click on the checklist below to download your copy. Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2024!  Welcome to the Clean House Calendar!  I'm Britia (pronounced Brita, like the water filter.)  And this is my little home on the internet. Have y'all ever picked a 'Word of the Year' or participated in the 'One Little Word' challenge?  class?  I decided this year I would pick a 'Word of the Year.'  A word that will focus and guide my goals for the year.  My "Word of the Year' is FAITH.   Matthew 17:20 says, “ You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a  mustard   seed , you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” NLT   Then Hebrews 11:1 says, " Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."   KJV    Dictionary.com defines faith as " confidence or trust in a person or thing or  belief that is not based on proof."   Marti...

The Fall Cleaning Schedule Starts Today!

: Image by Rebekka D from Pixabay Today is the first day of the 2023 Fall Cleaning Schedule.  However, there is nothing special on the task list for today unless, you decide to start work on your laundry room, our room of the week, early.  Image by Monfocus from Pixabay My plan for this week is:   Monday:   Clean and organize cabinets. Update my Trello Master To-Do List and Home Projects Boards. Tuesday: Clean tile grout. Wednesday: Clean and reorganize locker bins. Thursday: Clean the ceiling, walls, and doors for cobwebs, dust & any stray marks. Clean the outsides of cabinets. Run the ‘Clean Washer Cycle’ on the washing machine. Clean the lint trap in your dryer. Wipe down both the inside and outsides of the washer and dryer. Clean the laundry room sink and countertops. Dust/vacuum the baseboards and behind machines. Vacuum and mop floors. Empty trash bins. Take any donations to the car. Friday: Add any tasks or projects that need doing to my Trello...

Media/Game Closet Cleaning Checklist

The spring cleaning task for this week is the media/game closet. When we built our house, we ran wires from a small linen closet to the wall above our fireplace, where we placed our TV.  That way, the cable box, the DVD player, and all the required wires were hidden.  At that time, we stored all of our media equipment, DVDs, and board games in that closet.  Over the years, our media needs have changed, and there is no longer any equipment in the closet, but we still store DVDs (yes, we still have those) and our board games in that closet. As you know, the Clean House Calendar is based on what I needed to keep my own house clean and organized. Therefore, I needed to include the media/game closet in my cleaning schedule.  You may not have such a closet, but I'm sure you have an area or two where you store your media (vinyl, DVDs, 3D glasses, games systems, and accessories) and your board games and puzzles.  Those areas are what we are focused on this week....

Entry/Mudroom Cleaning Checklist

Photo by Douglas Sheppard on Unsplash The spring cleaning task for this week is the entry/mudroom.  For me, this includes the front entry foyer, where I have an entryway chest of drawers, our coat closet, and part of our laundry room.   When I created the Entry/Mudroom Cleaning Checklist, I was envisioning an area similar to the photo above, but I feel like the checklist could also be used for areas like my entryway chest of drawers and a coat closet. Click on the checklist to download.  Enjoy!  B.

Spring Cleaning Checklists

Today's spring cleaning task is 'Clean and organize the linen closets'.  So I thought I would share my checklist to help you complete the task. I designed it to print, hole punch, and place in your planner or your Family or Household binder.   Click on the checklist to download. Because I was recovering from having Covid over the holidays, I didn't get the laundry room checklist shared with you.  So here it is as well.  Again click on the checklist to download. Have a great day!  B. Image by Freepik
