Welcome to The Clean House

Welcome to The Clean House.  I have been playing around for a while with this idea of editing a blog about having a clean and organized home.  I know there are those of you out there who have been to my home and will say to yourself, possibly others and maybe even me, "She has no business writing a blog about having a clean and organized home."  And, you may be right.  But, my house is clean and organized by most peoples standards and my goal is to live in a home that is show ready at all times.  Thus, the reason for this blog.  I have a plan to get my home cleaned and organized enough that everyone, even Martha would say I have a right to write this blog.  And, I thought I would share it.  You are more than welcome to join me in this little adventure to tidiness or just peek in to see how I'm doing.

Before I start I need to give credit to a few people.  First, Flylady.  She and her team turned me on to the idea of routines.   Second, The Holiday Gran Plan Group over at Yahoo Groups.  I like how they focus on one room at time.  Third, Motivated Moms.  I like the whole checklist idea.  Flylady and the Holiday Grand plan do that as well, just not quite so neatly.

So are you ready to get started?

Kickin' Back

2020 kicked my butt.  But, now I'm ready to kick back.   A Little History In 2014 after being a stay-at-home wife & mother for 13 years I decided to go back to work part-time as a substitute teacher. The truth is, the first year I didn't really enjoy the job, so I was very particular about when and where I subbed, and keeping up with my home was easy.  The next year, I ended up taking a few longer-term positions and even more importantly getting called back to sub for the same teachers.  I got to know the students and they got to know me and I realized I was ready to go back to teaching full time.  So I applied, was offered a position, accepted, and began teaching again in the fall of 2016.   The students were challenging and I had to work hard to stay ahead.  I went in early and stayed late.  I worked at home a lot.  But, I loved my job.  At home, I  managed to get not let the dishes or laundry get too out of hand and...
